אז מה זה ESG?
המונח ESG מהווה מסגרת להערכת תאגידים המתמקדת בשלושה ממדים מרכזיים: סביבה (Environmental), חברה (Social)
וממשל תאגידי (Governance). גישה זו נועדה לבחון כיצד פעילויות החברה משפיעות על התחומים הללו וכיצד שיקולים אלה עשויים להשפיע על ביצועיה וערכה הכלכלי לאורך זמן. ESG מדגיש את חשיבותם של שיקולים שאינם פיננסיים בלבד, אלא כוללים גם סיכונים והזדמנויות הקשורים לשינויי אקלים, יחסי עבודה, אתיקה עסקית, שקיפות ניהולית ועוד.
תחום ה-ESG צבר תאוצה בשנים האחרונות, בעיקר בשל גידול במודעות הציבורית, דרישות משקיעים, חקיקה מתפתחת וציפיות מבעלי עניין לראות מעבר לדיווח פיננסי מסורתי. בעקבות זאת, חברות רבות מפרסמות דוחות ESG, בהם הן מציגות את ביצועיהן ואת האסטרטגיות שהן מאמצות בתחומים אלו. מעבר לכך, ESG הפך לשיקול משמעותי בקבלת החלטות השקעה, כאשר משקיעים מתייחסים אליו כאמצעי להערכת חוסן תאגידי, ניהול סיכונים ויציבות פיננסית ארוכת טווח.

So what is ESG?
The term ESG is a framework for evaluating corporations that focuses on three key dimensions: Environmental, Social
, and Governance. This approach is designed to examine how a company’s activities impact these areas and how these considerations may affect its performance and economic value over time. ESG emphasizes the importance of considerations that are not only financial, but also include risks and opportunities related to climate change, labor relations, business ethics, management transparency, and more.
The ESG field has gained momentum in recent years, mainly due to increased public awareness, investor demands, evolving legislation, and stakeholder expectations to see beyond traditional financial reporting. As a result, many companies publish ESG reports, in which they present their performance and the strategies they adopt in these areas. Furthermore, ESG has become a significant consideration in investment decision-making, with investors viewing it as a means of assessing corporate resilience, risk management, and long-term financial stability.
